Woot, a little Smash Palace love! Follow it up with Goodbye Pork Pie for a good ol' Kiwi double-feature.

I concur. Maude Flander's death is THE jump the shark point for me, and the last 'new' episode I ever watched.

I saw it myself for the first time last week - and I'd agree with both those sentiments, though I enjoyed the hell out of certain scenes.

What's been clone-stamped out from the top left of the picture, eh? Just what are you hiding from us, AV Club? What don't you want us to know? Hmmm?

I'm a big sucker for LA Story, which also has it's doses of pure (over the top?) romanticism spooned in there. And another MPDG love interest who plays a brass instrument.

Sonya Blade IS Bridgette Wilson, for now and for ever.

You're damn right about that.

Man, I'd second that, on both counts. I'm forever noodling around on my uke playing 'Hold On Magnolia', and the first time I listened to 'Didn't It Rain' was like a total gut-punch. My fingers are most definitely crossed for the guy.

But I'm not an alien!

Ok, a little late to the party here, but what the hell. My problem with season five is not that the storylines are unrealistic in final series - they'd managed to pull off unrealistic scenarios before (localised, legalised drugs, anyone?) - but that the story was just plain told badly.

I never felt like Neil was that bad when I originally watched the show, but one thing stuck out to me on my recent re-watch.
