A Phillip/Skylar finale (or anybody/Skylar) would have been interesting. I think she's the only person out there who could have beaten Phillip and, yet, gone before Hollie or Jessica. That's a strange little twist. I'm not 100% convinced that the CCR song did her in the way that the Gaga evidently did in Colton, but I

I love that song. It's not endorsing going back to your abuser at all. It was written as the opposite of that. Carol King and Gerry Goffin put it together after learning about Little Eva's shitty relationship with her abusive boyfriend. It was meant to be dark and ironic. The unintended irony these days is that Phil

I don't vote, so it doesn't really matter in the long run, but I found Jessica so incredibly boring as a person and as a performer that I couldn't get behind her as our great female savior. I wanted a girl to win this year. Erika or Skylar or Elise would have been fine by me. But, the two girls that made it closest to

For some reason it never bothered me that Tyler didn't know Bleeding Love, though as someone noted below it's insane that he'd never heard She's Got A Way. That was just odd. JLO, for all of the weird gaps in her musical knowledge, surprised me not knowing The Letter because it seemed like anyone who knew Time Of The

I'm fine with someone who hates something reviewing it or someone who used to love something and got disillusioned listing out all the reasons it's good or bad as long as they're entertaining. But, that House review was kind of puzzling. I couldn't really get past the fact that he seemed angry about the retrospective.

I'm always up for an Idol meltdown but I kind of felt bad about ten seconds in because the floor director should have allowed the rest of the finalists to go up there or given his family the heads up that it was okay to go on stage and rescue him. Would have taken a tiny bit of pressure off the guy.

It was apparently the case this year as well. Jessica said they chose that song because of…something. I don't know. I kind of tuned out to consider how horrible the rest of her choices must have been if that's what she got saddled with.

I really wish that there was an age limit on this thing. Jessica has a nice voice, but no. She's not ready. There's just nothing going on there and she needs a serious mentor. I would loooooove for a girl to finally win this thing, knocking the WGWG standard out of the competition, but not this girl. I actually would

Last night or just in general? Because in general, yeah, Phillip has looked like garbage for most of the season. But, I actually thought he looked good last night. I don't know if he was feeling better or if hair and makeup finally figured out what to do with him but I remember thinking during the first song that he

Yes, yes and more yes. I can handle pretty much any return as long as it allows me a little more Penner. I'd even take Colton. I don't *want* to, but I would.

That was Julianne both times. She was super casual (and maybe without makeup) when they showed her backstage but that was her.

I get the criticisms of Joshua's singing style to a certain extent because even though he's been more than willing to sing songs of all genres, most of which he doesn't even know, his basic style puts him in the same box that Scotty was in last year. It's a little boring to predict the rise and fall of each song he
