Yeah, the conspiracy theories seem a little out of whack this season. Jessica looked like she was traumatized and completely confused about everything that was happening. Like her ears were clogged and she couldn't hear what people were saying, she could only see them moving quickly towards her.

Whatever order Hollie, Elise and Jessica go, they'll be the next three. Then Joshua gets fourth place and we finally get the point where girls have to decide if they want Colton or they want Phillip. I think Colton's got the edge with the God stuff. And I think Skylar gets to be in the lucky position of being the girl

I think we also need to take into consideration that it's not entirely their choice anyway. I can't imagine that the Idol producers weren't wetting themselves to get Goyte on so they could be at least a little current and/or that Goyte's label wasn't dying for more promotion. I mean, Tuesday it was Glee (and two weeks

Nothing will ever reach Adam Lambert levels of pimping on this show. That was ridiculous and I really, really liked Adam. But, the ass kissing was out of control and it just made me feel bad for him because he knew it was hurting him but how do you get upset about people *liking* you? It was no win and the judges

Jennifer, for all of her faults and obnoxiousness, has always been more coherent and constructive than Paula so it annoys me when she pulls a Paula and busts out the "you look so pretty tonight, baby". I don't know why that bothers me more than every other irritating things she does, but for some reason it just grates.

I feel like the only way they'll save Elise is if she's up for elimination on their last week to use it. Because they're totally going to use it on whoever is up that last week unless there is a huge surprise tonight or next week and one of their pets is in danger. Especially since the elimination of Jermaine gave

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Diddy. It was partly because he was actually very present and occasionally helpful but it was mostly because he seemed to be annoying the shit out of Jimmy and I am 100% for that.  His joke about wondering if Heejun was even Asian also gained him a lot of points with me.

Colton is like the Christian pop Rufus Wainwright and if he keeps pushing that and doing his God stuff online and looking all adorable as he gets petulant about people messing with his hair then he might be the dude to beat Phillip. I hope it doesn't come to that (I have three or four favorites ahead of him, though

I was really confused by the choices they made, not because I didn't actually like most of them but because they all seemed to be from a very specific era. Billy Joel wrote pop for 20 years. He had a lot of hits. A lot of very well known songs. And, yet, everything but "Shameless" came from the same three or four

I agree with you on Heejun for the most part, but I do think that some of his behavior is a defense mechanism against criticism. I *do* think it got to him last week. He was openly weeping at one point and it seems that there are far less pathetic characters to play if your entire game is calculated. I think he's a

I am of the opinion that when you go to the salon you should know exactly what you *don't* want and at the top of that list should be "Please don't make me look like Kris Jenner". Erika pulled it off, but it was still all I could see the entire time she was singing.

I've never been so happy to be wrong. If we're going to start picking off the girls at least America picked the right one to start with.

But, the difference in this one case would be that only one would go home next week. They'd just combine the votes (or I assume they would just combine the votes) and be done with it. I usually hate the nobody goes home crap too, but at least in this case it would seem a little more fair than Idol usually attempts to

I think my bitterness about the Jermaine fiasco (which is really not bitterness so much as just internet boredom and a gross crush on Reed) is that while, yes, Reed Grimm wasn't going to win this thing at all I still would have enjoyed seeing him a couple more times on my television. Ditto Creighton, Jen Hirsch,

Shannon wins me over a little bit with her goofy expressions and the fact that she seems like kind of a dork but those moments are so few and far between that I still want her off of my television. She had a chance to do something interesting (for her, at least) and she went back to the big well of ballads and God and

Shannon is this season's Kristy Lee Cook. God help us all.

Weirdly all I can see when I look at Shannon is Claudia, the girl from How I Met Your Mother whose wedding Ted nearly ruins with his "plus one" nonsense. Pretending that there's anything bitchy or cutthroat about Shannon makes her vaguely more interesting, but I still irrationally want her gone from my television.

They made the right decision, thank goodness. I don't know that I'd feel the same way if it had been Jeremy and Shannon, because I kind of wanted Shannon to go in spite of wanting the girls to do well this year. It's tough. But, Jeremy leaving is perfectly okay with me. He seems like a sweet kid, but it was his time.

But, nothing will distract from the wonky eye.

@fabulousrobots:disqus I'm not saying Randy gave terrible advice or offered bad criticism at
all, just there was something off about him this week and last with the stumbly word choices. Although I do honestly believe that there is little attempt on his part, most weeks, to be at all consistent with his critiques.
