Why can't they use "with" in addition to "and"?
I'm not sure De Niro is capable, anymore, of producing nuanced work. He pretty much gave the same performance in Silver Linings Playbook as he gave in Meet the Parents. His crying scene was possibly the worst piece of acting I've ever seen from "one of the greats".
It is an American thing, not an avclub specific thing. Racism is an obsession here - any perceived racist "microaggressions" will be picked up on and you'll be beaten over the head with it (and has led to a strong anti-PC backlash). I do worry that American attitudes will spread to other lands where racism…
I like Miles - he's great at playing that character every one loves to hate.
Where do you draw the line? How many of these artists are currently boycotting, say, America? 7 seperate countries were bombed last year by the Obama administration with over 26,000 bombs used. Gitmo is still open! Habeus corpus has been suspended for both foreigners and American nationals.
Republicans just got rid of the filibuster. The Dems had their chance.
I don't see a problem with having older actors cast in leading roles. Bring back Jane Seymour as the next Bond girl! Still hot as hell.
People on here have no problem with making broad judgemental statements about Mr Baio.
People were saying that about Bowie 18 months ago. We don't wanna get 2016 going again.
Intentional irony?
I don't think he's very eloquent. Did he perhaps mean, "if you ABUSE drugs or alcohol, you're gonna die"?
Funny how Republicans stop caring about Russia as soon as they help "their guy". I cannot imagine the outrage if Russian hackers leaked Trump emails.
I wouldn't have heard of the site had people here not mentioned it (well, not until Trump became a player anyway). Liberals mentioning it on sites such as this have definitely given them traffic and eyeballs.
I don't get the Bernie criticism. He canvassed for her publicly. If anything, GOP big names like Bush, who did not get behind Trump, would have caused their candidate far bigger problems.
Thanks for that. Yep, that was a gaff on a similar level.
Well, she is Pro-Choice. That feels pretty progressive these days.
Israel, Sri Lanka and India all elected female leaders in the 1960s. Is the America of today really more sexist than these countries were 50 years ago?
Clinton is also for the death penalty. That ticket just couldn't fire up the core base.
I feel pretty much the same way. But, Trump's one good angle was the anti-establishment one (won't be so effective in 2020!). And Romney is even more establishment than Clinton - his company Bain have resulted in untold job losses by "optimising company efficiency".
