Isn't NASCAR circles, F1 is more twisty-turny road courses?

Is The Godfather too obvious?  Or Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

While @Beast_of_man:disqus correctly mentions Wallis, it didn't help out Hailee Steinfeld in True Grit where she was similarly in damn near every scene and dominates the entire movie.  Though in that year I think it was such an overabundance of lead performances that this was the Academy's way of awarding her

"Performance Art" is quite a generous term for what he's doing.  It's being a brat.  If people pay for a Miley Cyrus concert and she does "this is the song that never ends…" for 2+ hours, she should get booed and heckled as well, despite the fact she's fulfilling her contract of singing and dancing.

His having personal and arguably noble reasons for stopping a show are different from his actual stopping of a show, though.  No one is going to play the world's smallest violin for either side of this: Multimillionaire comedian or obnoxious, 20-somthing, White Connecticut  fans.  But disdain for your audience or no,

I don't have no sympathy for him the way @avclub-178874fad561e353c21ccdafe08915ca:disqus doesn't, but I have very little since this is the whatever it is number of times he's done this.  I appreciate it has to be incredibly annoying to try and distance yourself from what was a monstrous hit years prior and do new

Good Lord there would be so many songs in a movie called that.

@avclub-c28d9aed55d410c2d797e07c42e3ae50:disqus I agree it was about his breaking away, which is tough, but I think the scene also was meant to classify Quell as almost a machine doing a computation that won't stop until it finishes.  So, PSH was mad when he kept going, but it was a "fuck me" kind of resignation

what?

If Alan Turing sang the song those formerly blurred lines would now be useful military intel.

Is it Smulders or Smulder?  Genuine question.

"Work": Where I go to discuss probable racism and teenage death.

Nice to see common-sense judgments like this.

Isn't there a dude with the name around here "Former Twins third baseman Gary Gaetti"?

I was pretty thoroughly disappointed by Wind-Up Bird.  I got the sense that it could've been trimmed by 20% or so and there would have been a much tighter, better focused book in there.  I might have just been wanting the various stories and threads to congeal more than they eventually do, an expectation I can hardly

Are you in Hawaii right now, then?  Why are you on here!?

@avclub-edefdcf46bf545ec653aaa1fd27eb181:disqus Isn't she a jewel thief in Gangs of NY?

BotSW is a really good parallel.  They almost occupy the opposite ends of the childhood spectrum, with Wild Things erecting a surprisingly despondent atmosphere for the majority of the time, punctuated by bits of hilarity and release, whereas Beasts is primarily upbeat and world-conquering in the face of incredible

I'd agree IJ is more fun.  There are times when it's a serious chore, intentional or no, but at least during those times it makes some sense to be that way.  The times, at least for me, when GR went off the rails (which was often) I literally couldn't figure out what was going on, and that makes me panic as a reader.
