You are so goddamn smart.

I really wish they had gone all out and ran "ABC's Blood And Oil is the perfect nighttime soap… for me to poop on"

It's literally the most memorable piece of dialogue in the entire episode, hence we know what he's referring to from two words of it.

Given Odenkirk is modest about his skills, and that Saul Goodman is pretty much his first attempt at dramatic acting, I'm sure he's happy just to be nominated.

"Truthfully, I think you should save the cultural commentary for the Editorial section of the paper. I really don't think it should take up residence in the Arts and Entertainment section."

Your opening post was arguing that a film critic should literally never invoke the concept of minority involvement or perspective and now you're saying that you are tired of critics who "assail a filmmaker for any perceived narrow-mindedness whatsoever".

Using clips and frames of media in reviews and critiques is perfectly legal, as the AV Club well knows, and I somehow doubt you're genuinely that devoted to reviewers losing the right to fair use if you're also complaining that her clips aren't long enough to provide context or evidence that she knows about videogames

"copious amounts of Níðhöggr dick"

There's an overlap in that they're both repressed and faintly psychotic but that's more or less it. Wolcott was a self-interested prig and physical coward. KD is genuinely remorseful and trying to channel his violent urges for good, and also comes over as about twice Wolcott's size.

You will struggle to find a modern TV drama that's not sitting at around 9.0 on IMDB. I think all you really need to do to get a loyal following for whatever drama is whip together some edgy violence, sporadic emotional grandstanding and thematic keynotes of brotherhood / parenthood - although preferably not literal

That hardly explains why he would publicly agree to take the role in the first place, let alone why he would bother talking now about how much he would have liked to have kept it.

I'm hoping they're a dual honouring of the Elephant Man, taken from us too soon.

I actually think there were a lot of good dark comedies or darkly comedic tinged films with an air of remorse for the 80s during the actual 80s, like Brazil, King of Comedy, Robocop, After Hours, Repo Man, The Fly, The Hidden, Videodrome, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Something Wild, etc.

I'm not sure I can think of many notable actresses between 30 and 50 who have had even particularly overt plastic surgery, let alone to the point that they "no longer look human". The most extreme I can think of is Renee Zellweger, who more looks like a totally different human than a space alien.

A review for the first batch of episodes, followed by episode reviews depending on level of interest, is how every show is handled on this site. I don't see why Netflix should be privileged because of its distribution model, especially given there's over 400 original shows airing in the US this year.

I haven't seen the show, but I thought it was interesting reading a Latin American perspective on a Latin American story. Not really sure why you're so keen to try and shut that down.

If it helps, I think the next two seasons of Brotherhood are a pretty considerable step up from the first. That said, I can't really bring to mind a single memorable moment on Jason Clarke's side of things in the entire series, so bland the performances and plot stakes involved versus Jason Isaac's.

The legal machinations leading to the decision were pretty complicated. The Federal government launched the case against the City of Yonkers, Yonkers filed a counterclaim against HUD, the NAACP became involved as third-party plaintiffs and went after both the city and HUD, so in the end both had to acknowledge their

I think you're conflating trigger warnings with spoiler warnings. If you're dealing with a narrative of rape that reminds you of a personal experience of getting raped or sexually assaulted, I can't see why it would make a difference how old that material is.
