I have no idea what the fuck this has to do with anything, but it's the funniest thing on the AV Club since the story about the controversy over the Saw trailer (or poster, whatever it was) in Britain.

What isn't?

I've already had quite a few of these experiences this year. They're not all great by any means, but they're at least worth Redboxing, and the first two films on the list are pretty excellent.

I laughed. Unlike Dane Cook's Aurora joke, Ross' punchline is actually funny.

No, she does.

I agree with all of this. I caught a matinee this afternoon, and while the film has some flaws, I had a fucking blast. It's very different from the original, but I don't think it's any worse. Total Recall isn't top-tier Verhoeven, and both his original and the remake are both solid Bs in my book.

The AV Club is usually the best place for this sort of thing, which makes their decision to assign this to a writer who clearly doesn't understand South Park all the more baffling.

Can we please get a new critic for this? Anyone would be an improvement. To be fair, these are the best SP classic reviews yet, but that truly isn't saying much. The second review isn't even a review. It's just a plot synopsis. Reading it, I honestly don't know if Dyess-Nugent liked the episode or not.

Nah, I'm just rather young by the standards of AV Club commenters. 19, in case you were wondering. I enjoy that the demographic skews older, because it typically leads to more mature and reasonable discussion…

I can't recall it very well, but I know I read the first one. I remember a kid charging people to look at the "water closet."
