A lot of Brits - even when their accent is otherwise very good - seem to have trouble with hard "Rs", both in the middle and at the end of words, softening them to "ah" (which, of course, is also done in some USAmerican accents!)

… and he's now playing Norman Bates on TV. From the bits I've seen, his accent is spot-on.

She actually did put on a broader accent for the TV show, though she (by her own account, at least) toned it down later in her run.
