Coach McGuirk Quote Thread
Melissa: Coach, are you drunk?
McGuirk: Yeah, that's why I came to the mall.
Finally saw Avatar
Its flaws are well-documented (the dialogue, the acting, the ridiculous villain, the typically lame Cameronian attempts at humor).
@ShrikeTheAvatar,
One of the primary problems with Dune is that every other word in the goddamn thing is completely made up. It drives me nuts when fantasy/sci-fi authors do that, they think they are being clever but it's just annoying. We're reading your book for the story, not to flip to the Glossary of Pretend Shit to figure out for…
New intro
The new intro surprised me. The old one was rather perfect for this show, it served as a compelling visual metaphor for the Hendricksons' plural marriage and Mormonism in general (with the veils and ending up in heaven with your family).

Northern Lights?
They're making The Golden Compass again?
Somebody at the AV Club is going to have to cover "Mooby". Either as a MYOF or an I Watched This On Purpose.
No, Gaiman is married with kiddies.
So, according to the AV Club,

My take on the cliffhanger ending:
Wilford Brimley was 51 when he made Cocoon.
I abandoned my child, cha cha cha! I abandoned my boy [jazz hands]!
Billy Bob
I'm really glad they went with Billy Bob in this role rather than their first choice, Bill Murray.
The crappiest friend was Steve Stranera.
It's like a bonus MYOF…
…that once again proves the Monkey/Dragon Paradox:
