This is, to my surprise, the celebrity death that has hit me the hardest in as long as I can remember. I was actually thinking about Margot At The Wedding today, and that film is gorgeously shot. Not to mention Zodiac, which is still the most beautiful digitally shot film for my money. So, so sad.

I'm amazed by this reaction, because I saw "In Bruges" in theaters, and I was shocked that nobody at the time was talking about it. In my mind, it's still the movie that I only know is great.

Definitely the funniest South Park episode since the one with the dub video parody.

I always watch Magnolia hoping that the brilliance of the prologue will sustain itself, but it never does. It's like what a film would be like if films were put out by the Esalen Institute. It's just so… "HERE ARE MY FEELINGS…LET ME SHOW YOU MY FEELINGS!"

I'm a fan of Silence of the Lambs and Shawshank. Magnolia, however, I can not abide.

I've seen "F For Fake" and it's probably my favorite documentary. Like I said, he's clearly didactic and biased (he'd probably never deny this), but I don't know what you mean by "selective editing of documentary footage". Can you use an example? Most of Curtis' films seem to use footage that's almost incidental to…

It depends on the documentary. My favorite documentaries are those that have some point of view. My favorite documentary filmmaker is Adam Curtis, who works for the BBC (most of his movies are available for free on the internet, so please check them out if you have the time) and his films are extremely didactic, but…
