Noel's song list is pretty canny. I'd have put Together at or near the top, but if you're going to honor one song off of it, "Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk" is the one.

Oh Bill Reed, the best surprise I've had today was seeing another commenter praise Peter Milligan's work on Batman comics in the early nineties. Not only is he not as big a name as Moore, Morrison, etc, but I remember the letters sections having a lot of hostile fan reactions during his run. But he did some great…
I love Jack Nicholson as an actor, and he did good work as the Joker, but Tim Burton and the screenwriters screwed up by (SPOILER, I GUESS) making him the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents. It makes him too bad in one way, too safe and understandable in another. One thing I like about Heath Ledger in character is that…
Actually I'm pretty sure it was "The Judge" where she made her first appearance. Though I think those two episodes were switched at the last minute, so I can see getting them crossed.
This episode was preempted by a news special here in Providence, so I had to wait a day and see it on Hulu. Man, when I did. If I have a favorite episode of Community, it's probably this one. What's great about it is that it seems more or less plotless, but the collected character beats (and for all the characters)…
What if you just read the tumblr blogs with titty pictures?
The Wild and the Innocent
Frank does have an interesting scene with Jim Gilroy, Maddy's rapin' stepfather. Jim talks about how he almost drowned in the trunk, and Frank says he thinks about that, but not in the same way Jim does. Usually Frank responds to his prey with a mix of numbed-out terror and empathy. This…
Shark Bite
Cuesta's new show sounds like a direct steal from the show from a couple of years ago, Shark, in which one James Woods played a high-powered defense attorney-turned prosecutor. Anyway, I wish they'd drop the "for justice" rhetoric. Tell us the real reason. She changes careers because only liberal cable…
Yeah, I believe that outside of the Glenn Beck sidebar it was pretty much word for word.
"Luminary", the Alaskan wilderness rescue episode, is a standout for me.
Catherine Black
I'm with Todd. I do wish that there had been more Catherine-centric episodes of Millennium. It seems like the writing staff as a whole found the show's themes easier to approach from the POV of a dark psychic out in the field. The more down-to-earth stories about the sexy social worker wife were put…
"That Old Gang of Mine" is one of my favorite episodes. The scene that really sells it for me is when Gio murders "Wind Beneath My Wings", a bad move because it lets Lorne read him like a book. Also because he can'r fucking sing.
Batty
I thought Shirley at the end became sort of like the Last Temptation version of Judas. She committed the seemingly unforgiveable act that actually wound up saving the hero.
Less urination, which is good. Of course there are no Emily Watson nips in it, but you can't have everything.
Not really feeling the mother
To me it seemed like the mother was having another baby for the same reason a lot of men her age buy souped-up muscle cars. Except it's a little more serious a purchase isn't it? And not to get all Rick Santorum, but it was bizarre the way the lack of a father was never addressed. Her…
Eh. At least Hayley spent the whole ep in a bikini.
Agreed. I think it does give his performances (and his face) a certain "lived in" quality.
Jackie Kashian has been one of my favorite "needs more love" comics for a few years now.
I read the "Other shows" reviews very often. These are usually a little out of the usual AVC beat, and I'm curious to see what the reviewer finds to defend or savage in the show. Todd writes a lot of these, and he's always worth reading.
Agreed. Milo turned out to be one of the show's most fascinating antagonists. It was kind of gutsy not to give either us or his sister any reassurance at the end.
