Nine pages can be a while in a book sometimes.  The nature of books vs TV probably increases the chances that the dead kids could be Bran and Rickon in the books.

There's very little evidence, if any, that she's Arya.  As far as Tywin knows, she could be any of a number of high born children displaced by the war.

Well that's the whole reason the Night's Watch is a poor band of criminals manning a few castles instead of a large, noble force manning a dozen/twenty castles to guard the realm from all sorts of terrors.

That reminds me, in the first book, was the reader supposed to immediately know that it's Jaime who pushed Bran out the window?  It's from Bran's POV and he doesn't recognize him, and it's also early in the book where the reader might not have a good grasp on who all the characters are.

Also, looking back on it, I didn't realize there were only 5 Dany chapters in the book.  The only other character who didn't have at least 6 chapters was Davos.

It doesn't seem like Robert would need anything covered up though, as far as bastards are concerned.

Lyanna died in Ned's arms after he assaulted the tower she was being kept in, sometime near the end of the Rebellion (per the HBO Viewer's Guide).  No idea how she died, and Ned's dead so…

I'm pretty sure Bran mentioned them this episode when they saw the place.

Regarding the warlocks, people have suggested that magic has faded from the world over recent centuries (or maybe even longer) but has just recently started coming back.  The most direct example would be the dragons.  The last weak and stunted dragons died generations ago, but Dany hatched her dead dragon eggs.  Maybe

@Kumagoro:disqus It's possible she treated Theon better than she treated Jon.  To Catelyn, Jon is a constant reminder that Ned cheated on her shortly after they were married.  Now, everyone else probably treated Jon better than Theon, since Jon was at least Ned's son.

@avclub-d7f43e1fb2d4977c86163d9b0cb07814:disqus The godswood is the part of Winterfell from the intro with the trees.  That's where Bran as Summer went in his dream, and then went to later that day with Osha.  It's inside the castle walls, so it's not like Summer is running off somewhere, but it is out of the way I

@avclub-23dc117ef9479407fb6c6a666005af40:disqus A lot of things like this actually come up in the Interactive Features on HBO Go.

There are probably a fair number of people who have read book two since the show started but are still working their way through book three.

@avclub-fff4ac4c2f46e5cd75ec8b515c235031:disqus I think Payne used Ned's sword.  It wasn't made for beheadings, but it is a borderline magically strong and sharp two handed sword, so I'd imagine it gets the job done well.  Especially in the hands of someone like Ned, a skilled warrior with some execution experience,

I think it's confusing because you expect him to be using his sword, but he isn't.  Then you think punch, but then guts fall out.
