'Gremlins' definitely counts, at least in my experience. Saw it when I was pretty young — five or six, maybe? — and was thereafter very uncomfortable if my feet were hanging off the end of the bed at night… never knew when those little buggers might get me.

When I read the novel the description of The Judge brought to mind the guy who played Bull Shannon on 'Night Court' (and this stuck), giving the whole thing a strange flavor.

While I have no quarrel with Mr. Motherfucker's choice of beverage, I believe that the answer that those of you who do are looking for is yorschik — a beer topped off with a shot of vodka. It keeps your coat shiny.
