There were many causes and influences. Doesn't mean the 'lost cause' fellow was right either, but there were various different causes rather than the simplistic 'it was slavery/no it was state rights' dichotomy.
Looking forward to this one. I rate Sheridan a really talented young actor, I've always been a fan of Cage and Green is a fine director at his best, not to mention the cinematography of Orr which is always something beautiful.
Such a beautiful film, and one of my favourites. The booth scene towards the end is one of my favourite scenes in cinema, and beautifully handled by the director, the actors and the cinematographer.
