I'm kind of shocked not to see Calvary on this list. It was amazing, and definitely my personal best of the year. (Though, granted, I saw very few new releases.)

The Dead weren't there in the book. Also, yeah, of course. I'm not much of a fan of Jackon's LOTR, but he's absolutely butchering The Hobbit. It's supposed to be charming and low-key, for the most part, but he's intent on making it a lovechild of Wagner and Homer.

But, see- there are five armies in this one. And five is a lot of armies. It's basic math, Mr. Punk.

Scientifically proven, crows are crazy!

Eh, well, the Reformed churches were traditionally iconoclastic, so that contradiction has not gone unremarked, though a majority still seem not to care.

And sometimes they communicate by vigorously hacking phlegm out of their throats. These are those we call "Germans."

Always a little ironic, considering the only thing remotely close to a physical description of Jesus (and even this depends on your beliefs vis-a-vis messianic prophecy) says "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him."

Yeah, the Arab population is (I'm pretty sure, at any rate) a result of the Islamic conquests, quite a long time after the putative date of the exodus. There were definitely people there we would unambiguously see as black (Nubians, for instance), and probably some who would look relatively "white" but not European

Some of them are, some of them aren't. "Hebrews" or "Israelites" works as a blanket term, though.

No, no- like Annabel Lee, it died because it was too pure for this sullied world.

Call me sentimental, but damn it all to hell if I don't miss that horse-man from time to time. He was the commenter we deserved, but not the one we needed.

You left off the short-lived but bright-burning NO INCEST

Nah, not really. I just keep 'em a little loose.

I "splurged" on the LSTN Troubadours that got plugged on this site a while ago. They're pretty good, in my opinion, but I broke the cable almost right away and had to pony up for a replacement. Not that cheap, either.

My living situation makes it awkward to have ambient noise, and the headphone jack on my laptop is busted, so I'm a headphones and iPod kinda guy. I get a lot of my Harmontowns and How Did This Get Mades in while I play.

Of course it is. It's ad hoc explanation of a superhero movie.

Not with his force counteracting it, I guess.

Everyone in the Mediterranean and west of the Rhine has a gripe against the Romans.

I hated Jay's verse, actually. But then, I'm not a big fan of his in general, Blueprint aside.
