Alright, nerds, somebody has to say it.
This movie is actually pretty balls-out awesome. Sure it's sets up one convention after another, but it serves them out with great pacing and complete abandon. Spoilers ahead:

Eastwood has a reputation for running the most quiet, polite, professional sets in all of filmmaking. He actually used to share this reputation with Sidney Lumet and Sidney Pollack.
