Most of the problems with Neverwhere can be chalked up to a tiny budget and not enough time. To do the story justice, you really need 12 episodes on AMC, HBO or FX. On a personal note, I read the book years before the DVD of the mini was released here in the US, so I was annoyed with a lot of the casting choices.
