Same here, it really grabbed me. I especially liked how you're supposed to think that Daniels' character is a victim of his own paranoia right up until the last 15 minutes or so.

Yes, this. Threads is suicide-inducingly depressing because it makes it absolutely clear that there is no day after. Once the threads of society have gone it's just descent into the dark ages with no chance of another renaissance.

My dad had a copy of Scourge of the Swastika: A Short History of Nazi War Crimes and I remember flicking through it aged 10 or so, and reaching the photos of Auschwitz and Belsen. Just appalling.
