Dune is good. Maybe the DeLaurentis King Kong? I've always thought that you could prove that Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange were enormously talented actors simply by showing that their careers survived King Kong. Not only that, one has an Oscar, and the other might get one this year.

I think Fernwood/America Tonight would be the shining spot, and it would be the shining spot on many a resume.

Seconded, Daniel. Until the End of the World is a true mess of a film. I think it was originally intended to be several hours long, but was cut down to normal length. I can only imagine what the full length project looked like. Maybe it made sense finally.

Early Waits - Blue Valentine or Heartattack and Vine

Thanks for the link SJ. I'm giving this a listen when I get home.

PvL beat me to the comment on "Boy in Darkness" - worth seeking out, but not easy to find.

Thanks to Borders bucks, I ended up getting the Ferris book. See you in January.

There's also a story "Boy in Darkness" that you can find in some anthologies, and in the collection "Peake's Progress." The boy in the title is pretty much Titus in all but name, and he has an adventure with a hyena, a goat, and a blind lamb king. If that doesn't whet your appetite, I don't know what will.

I'd go on about how much I love the books, but you might have guessed it from my site nickname. PVL is right about Titus Alone, but it is an unfinished work, so it's sort of like complaining about the latest Nabokov. At times, Titus Alone is as haunting and beautiful as the other two books, and twice as surreal.

I don't think Ebert is that fat anymore, since the cancer.

The bass is the co-pilot of the band.

Lots of searching library branchs and used bookstores in my futureā€¦

I assume the smurf would be crips.

Did anyone else
think that Bowser's inside story was about the deep-voiced Sha-Na-Na greaser guy? Or am I just old?

I always wondered if the title were a subtle M&M's product placement, to make up for Reese's getting ET, then the M&M's people wised up at the last minute and dropped out.

Amazing Grace and Chuck
You should do this film sometime on MYOF. It is linked in my mind with this film for some reason.

Boy George

Captain, if we are going to steal one of your titles to make a movie, I nominate "Doc at the Radar Station"

That is so true Hillbilly, only ESL is the The Bronx without Riverdale and with extra Hunts Point.

I don't think this is my Facebook page. I think this is my Linkedin page.
