Agree with Miller about Yiddish Policeman's Union. It spent way too much time trying to meld Raymond Chandler with Isaac Bashevis Singer, and too little time tying threads of the plot together.

Thirded or fourthed on Little, Big. I've been trying to read that one for ages. Everytime I've tried to delve into it, something from the outside world has intervened.

I just bought a copy of the mentioned Big Book of Pulps today. I have a feeling that my reading schedule will be thrown off for a while.

Is the new Ellroy novel really titled "Blood's a Rover"? I remember that as being the working title of Harlan Ellison's "A Boy and His Dog" novel extention that never got made. I wonder if Ellroy is ready for a lawsuit?

In terms of personality, Andy Dick would probably be the most annoying-he seems to live up to his name, while Burns and Arquette seem to be a bit less in need of their meds. In terms talent, though, he's the only one of the three that has any discernable flashes of brilliance, and to borrow Nathan's MYOF criteria, a

Sonic NYC
I'd love to see a Sonic here in New York City, if only to see how they'd get past the Trans-fat ban.

ICUP: You have problems with Andre Previn, I take it, because she never actually married Woody Allen.
