Completely off topic, but "Monuments to an Elegy" sounds like the name of one of those Djenty bands I always encounter in guitar-related websites. It sounds metal, but what the hell does it mean?

Mark Heap gave one of the greatest comedic performances of the last decade on that show. And his relationship with Boyce was somehow beautiful and tender (all things considered).

Israel had a state-led centralized economy until possibly the 80s. Very far from any sort of anarchism.

The fat circle of time?

Pantera - "Hard Lines, Sunken Cheeks"
Opeth - "A Fair Judgement"
Meshuggah - every single solo on Nothing.

I wonder if the height issue is as important to gay men/women.

Sure, we all hate certain songs, but I would expect musicians to better articulate why they hate a song beyond "the performer's is a douche/some handlers'

I find it interesting that almost none of the entries in this series reference the composition of the hated song. It's always about the dumb lyrics or how the artist is such a total poser. That's understandable: many of the interviewees are not musicians and on the other hand, the songs chosen are usually very popular

My emotions! MY EMOTIONS!!!!!!

Lucas's chemistry with Alex Macqueen was the best (only good?) part of that show.

I completely agree with you on Richard II - he's charismatic and repugnant at the same time.

I'd be interested in a show about Chloe Sevigny as a MTF hitwoman. Chloe Sevigney as a mom - not so much. Way to kill a boner.

Apropos of nothing, I started watching The Good Wife, having been browbeaten by the constant praise and comparisons to The Wire. Three episodes in, the show looks like any ol' legal procedural, a genre I care little about. When does it go from good to great? can I skip the first season, or do I need to watch it so I

I think DT's biggest problem, at least from the early 2000s on, is that Opeth exists. DT, despite JP utilizing a wall of Mesa-Boogies and seven string guitars, never really sounds heavy and their notion of hooks is cheesy 1980s ballads. And James Labrie is really the worst. They are actually a power metal band with
