Even as hot as she is…she just couldn't sell it. Sorry. Next.

This got me thinking 2 things:
A cool tune, indeed, and features Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander, to boot.
You know, come to think of it, there doesn't seem to be much aesthetic distance btwn "Arthur's Theme" and, say, "Your Song". Hmm…
If you're gonna knock what many consider an easy target the least you can do is bring some substance to your critique. And if you traffic in pop punk of the Good Charlotte variety, then you should really back up your statement with a lot more than lazy, vague criticism.
Can we relay your thoughts on slap bass to Larry Graham, Louis Johnson, et al?
This.
Well, if Fallon's movie career had taken off he'd not taken the talk show gig in the first place. These gigs are generally taken by folks who see themselves with limited options in the entertainment world. In other words, it's either the long, hard slog of standup or a cushy talk show gig. If you land and subsequently…
He's actually a better choice for The Tonight Show than Fallon for the same reasons you point out. You need someone a little more edgy for 12:30.
Who I'd like for the gig: Aisha Tyler.
Who will probably land it: Seth Meyers
Not only that, but some of those same reviewers gloated when Weiland went thru his drug addiction woes. Classy.
I've read quite a few tributes, most of them heart-tugging but the funniest was this one:
That and "Wave Goodbye" might be the 2 best tracks on the album.
I still like Euphoria Morning. And to this day I believe those who were surprised by it weren't paying attention to the musical hints he dropped on the previous 2 SG records. I mean, "Black Hole Sun", "Like Suicide", "Zero Chance" and "Overfloater" could've been on Euphoria Morning. Hell, even "Fell On Black Days".
I dunno…Atlantic probably gave Talk Show no real promotional push while Weiland and his drug busts kept his name in the papers. Meanwhile, instead of a small headlining tour I saw Talk Show open for the Foo Fighters. Still dig that Talk Show record…
I have no clue as to why the Talk Show album failed to sell. Seriously. It's literally an STP album with a different singer. Obviously, if you didn't care for STP this was a non-starter but if like millions of other folks you happened to dig STP, then why not?
“Here I am outside your house at 3 a.m. / tryin’ to think you out of
bed”
“Like mackerel in a
net / I forget to forget”
Ha!
Yes, b/c Joe Pesci's musical output was perfectly representative of the '90s. [smh]
Indeed.
