The first season was sublime - rich and allusive in a way rarely captured by a television show.  Not that the other seasons aren't great, but it bothers me how often the first season is marginalized.

I don't have an axe to grind against all libertarians, as I've known a few in my life who were thoughtful, intelligent, and witty.  The "loud-mouthed professional libertarian" types tend to be really sophomoric and self-consciously "shocking" in a way that grates on me.  It's not indignation as much as distaste.
