I loved it, but all these years later, there's only two scenes that I remember (and they are the two scenes that everyone remembers).

I still like the Burton films for the highly-stylized art direction and mood.  Burton's style hadn't yet become a overly-familiar, derided "brand," and those movies didn't look or feel like most other "big" American movies of the time.  They always kind of sucked as storytelling though.

Really?  I thought the narration made for some of the funniest bits in the series.

I thought it worked in I Love You Alice B. Toklas, although that may have been because a) it was done before the whole "squares accidentally eat pot brownies and mellow out" became such a terrible cliche, and b) it related directly to the film's title!

I don't get too hung up on food/eating scenes, unless they go overboard with the chewing/slurping sound effects.  Jesus, who asks for that crap?
