This is true.  Al Pacino suffered from exhaustion during the making of Dog Day Afternoon, and I think the same thing happened to Dustin Hoffman on Marathon Man.  They took the "Method" approach to extremes.  I don't know if the same applies to Lohan (but I don't wish her any harm).

I'm amazed that "exhaustion" is still being offered as a legitimate explanation, with all of the snickering that term inspires.  The publicist should have gone with "vapors" or "Stendahl Syndrome" instead.
