I can honestly say it never crossed my mind that Walt was spinning a tale for the cops to hear so that Skyler and the kids would be safe. It just seemed like Walt finally stepping over the line to go Heisenberg on his family like he has on everyone else at one time or another….but I can't say that you're wrong.

My first thought when Skyler leapt in front of Junior was actually, "NO HOLLY'S IN THE LIVING ROOM SHIT".

Dude, I completely don't even remember Skyler getting a new car.

I actually think that part of the issue is that Todd has a basement-level IQ, and that he thought  he was being nice, trying to make Jesse feel more comfortable. I'm not saying he's not a sociopath, but he has this really weird, creepy manifestation of social cues.

Looks like he got flagged to hell and back so at least it's not visible right now.
