Hmmmm I never thought of salting crabapples. I used to just pick them off the tree and bite them to suck out the juice when I was a kid though, I never actually ate them.

I ate it salted all the time when I was younger, abandoned it for many many years, and have gone back to salting sometimes.

Huh I never tried it on other melons. It never even crossed my mind.

The thing I find most hilarious about that horse is that there is a smaller version of the same damn statue with its demonic eyes on the University of Oklahoma campus. I used to walk by it daily, and had no idea there was one at the Denver airport for the longest time until I just happened to be paying attention one…

I was completely shocked when I found out (last year!) that jalapenos actually turn RED if they're not picked when green.  I mean, it made sense once I thought about it, but I'd just never thought about it before.

That's one of my biggest issues with dark polishes - how hard they are to get off your nails! And I usually just do my toes crayola colours as well, and I find toe polish even more difficult to remove.

It's not strictly "garden" news, but I had a lovely rosemary bush of decent size growing like gangbusters for the last two-three years, and all the rain we got killed it dead. Just flat drowned it.

It looks really comfortable. And I understand that spendy bras are usually the best bras.

We did discuss how to steal all your albums and your girlfriend while you were gone, but we decided we'd rather get drunk and watch MST3K.

I hate to agree with her at all, but avacados are actually evil.

I like Subway, too, on occasion. I like their meatball subs LOOK I LIVE IN OKLAHOMA OKAY I don't think we we have "real" meatball subs.
