In the diary that he published in the sex, lies and videotape script book, Steven Soderbergh includes an entry about his disappointment in Married to the Mob the first time he saw it. When he went back and watched it a second time, though, he came to appreciate its goofy charms.
That reminds me of the one for Shoot Out the Lights. The author didn't have access to either Richard or Linda Thompson, so he made up a fictional first-person narrative about a singer-songwriter who went through a similar breakup during the making of a record.
