It's true. HJ does exude sexy menace.

I like Ryuichi Sakamoto's score for Snake Eyes.

All right, then

Naturally. I'll even give you interest.

Agreed. I've been waiting patiently for Criterion to upgrade it to Blu-ray. Nothing less than that will do.

I gave Xavier my standard three-episode tryout (because that's how long it can take me to warm up to Adult Swim shows sometimes) and gave up. I loved The Heart, She Holler from the start.

High and Low is a special case, though. It's rather telling that he went back and made one more feature entirely in black and white (the insanely awesome Red Beard) before fully biting down on the color bullet. And then, of course, it blew up in his face.

Jessica Harper is such a doll in that.

Hooray for creative endeavor!

Considering all the awards and nominations she garnered for those performances, I don't think she'll be altering her m.o. any time soon.

I adore Six Demon Bag. The Man in a Blue Turban with a Face is also most excellent. That's the one I bought directly from them when they came to town a few years back.

Actually, that makes it doubly gay.

Agreed. The animated segments were invariably the weakest parts of any given episode. Everything else was pure comedy gold, though.

Not exactly the highest of bars to clear.

Don't beat yourself up too much. As Matt Singer wrote, you didn't make a prediction. You simply took a guess.

So do some dudes.

I asked him about the scene where he walks backward into the the road and almost gets hit by a car. He said he really put his life in the hands of the stunt driver, but he was assured that it was totally safe.

…The mistress would not approve…

You can watch season three with a clear conscience.
