I saw it with a friend the week it opened and we were easily the youngest people in the room by at least a couple decades.

I sometimes go to the post office

It irks me to this day that Space Ghost, Zorak and Brak all get their own articles, but Moltar's got deleted by some shithead who's racist against lava men. (I tried reinstating it once, only for it to be removed again a couple days later. That was the moment when I decided Wikipedia didn't need my input.)

Damn his own writing!

Of the celebrities I saw, he was the only one I made a point of stopping to talk to. In addition to Greetings, we also discussed Phantom of the Paradise and the frustration over Fox's unwillingness to release a special edition of it over here. And Used Cars came up as well. Rabid is the one where Marilyn Chambers has a phallic stinger in her armpit. Shivers is the one that doesn't.

Daniel Stern and John Heard absolutely make C.H.U.D. If you have the Anchor Bay DVD, their commentary is hysterical.

Hey, I watched Stories We Tell this weekend, too! And yes, I've learned the hard way not to look up movies on Wikipedia before watching them.

Roger Ebert does an excellent commentary on the Criterion edition of Floating Weeds. Well worth a listen.

Any movie that can make you hate Jeff Bridges doesn't deserve to exist.

Trailers from Hell is a terrific site and a terrible timesuck.

Whores get nothing!

There's a great deal about Small Soldiers in Peter Bart's The Gross, which details the ups and downs of the blockbusters of 1998, which Bart called "The Summer That Ate Hollywood." Pity Hollywood didn't learn the right lessons from it.

What I did instead of getting caught up in some riddickulous popcorn flick:

The sad thing is they fixed the previous two that this happened to, so it's a known problem. How fucking hard is it to get right?

I like it with the helmet on.

Antelope nibbling on Dinklage hoop.

You can't claim I didn't warn you.

He could have gone with something a lot worse if he really wanted to.

Fine, fine, whatever
