Actually I would say that, as lukewarm as the rest of the episode is, Donald Glover could probably get a nomination with Contemporary Impressionists. He really did do a stellar performance throughout that episode.

That monologue is great because it's still funny, like the bit about the ice cream machine, but it's so utterly devastating when delivered by Jim Rash that it still leaves you with a lump in your throat. I love that episode.
