'He scare me and he scare you
Marilyn Manson, he go 'Boo!'
On his cornflakes he put moth,
Gothy, gothy, gothy
Goth, goth, goth.'
I stole this from a letter in the NME back in the day, but it's worth repeating here I think.

David Thewlis in 'Naked' also works for this.

Up-voted for fearless honesty.

To quote Lobsters of this parish, talking about the Oscars: 'Only dorks care about this shit.'

I actually won a copy of that in a local newspaper competition. Cool gatefold sleeve, tastefully minimal black and white front cover, with Darth Vader starscape on back.

Cool. I went to some Trevor Horn produces tribute gig a few years ago and Buggles did 'Video…' and 'Living in the Plastic Age' (replete with spooky female backing vox). Sheer class!

I've bought some shit since then, but I'm proud to report that my first purchase was David Bowie's 'Sound and Vision' on 45 (ask yer dad).

*thants*

It also served as an inspiration for the horrifying / inspired / funny closing number on satirical UK puppet show Spitting Image's 1987 Election Special: https://www.youtube.com/wat…. The end bit when puppet Thatcher leans into the camera is spine-chilling.
Right kids?

Me too. I've already booked tickets for FKA Twigs, D'Angelo and Perfume Genius.

Not really. That response was worth waiting for, I bet.

What a lovely Xmas story.

The poochiefication of Star Trek is complete.

I thought the first half of this was great: surprisingly tough and the scenes with the internal wrangling are gripping. It descends into portentous, man-of-destiny stuff in second act though, replete with maudlin piano accompaniment. Shame.

Liking the 'After Life' shout out. Loving it even.

'Locke', 'The Luncbox', and 'Leviathan'.

'Career Girls' is pretty poor.

Promo posters for this piece of shit are at the centre of the otherwise tasteful decorations on Regent Street (London).

I saw this on a plane and was mildly diverted spotting the actors through the beards, make-up and general filth. I awarded myself five points for correctly identifying Aksel 'Headhunters' Hennie.
Does John Hurt really need the money that badly though?

You're right about 'Imitation Game'. 'Theory of Everything' is middlebrow but well-paced and elevated by performances. Mr Turner is brilliant.
