I don't think it's right to say that Linus "simply quotes a Bible verse" given that I can't think of an example of another Christmas cartoon character who has done anything similar before or since (although I'm sure there must be some.) This special is overtly religious (and specifically Christian), and I think it's

"At lunch, Stanley orders the surf and turf, with a side of lobster. So, essentially, the surf and surf and turf."

I am very confused.
Is this article in praise of "An Innocent Man"? Because I really can't tell.
It's also loaded with factual inaccuracies, like suggesting this LP was the follow-up to "Glass Houses" (that would actually be"Nylon Curtain") or that Joel doesn't play piano on "Still Rock And Roll To Me" (he plays piano

Yeah, doesn't work for me either (this happens to me a lot with embedded vids on AVClub, btw.)  But I still wanted to follow along at home, so here's a different link:

It seems extremely odd to me that neither Rabin nor any of the Reasonable Discussers seem to note that the whole idea of this clip show was an elaborate April Fool's joke on the audience. And frankly, I think a damn funny one. Sure, it doesn't really hold up as any kind of great episode, but I remember really enjoying

His 1975 album "New Worlds Fair" is worth checking out, if you're into the spacey-hard rock-sorta proggy kinda thing (it was made with a bunch of the Hawkwind guys)

I remember really enjoying his direct homage "Kane of Old Mars" series, but it has been 15+ years since I read them.

Strange — I could have written this article twelve years ago and only had to change the names of records/projects accordingly.  I loved The Lips until the Zaireeka/Soft Bulletin era.  I went to a Zaireeka listening party and thought the music was lame and the idea a failure.  I was totally underwhelmed by Soft

James Brown didn't make this list?

"Because he's thirsty, dummy."
Possibly my favorite line in the whole movie, and Williams's delivery just kills it.
