Hey, I namedropped this yesterday in Elvis Costello's song thread. I also made this happen!

Agh, forgot Beyond Belief! The lyrics in that are just amazing. "I hang around dying to be tortured / You'll never be alone in the bone orchard / This battle with the bottle is nothing so novel"
Almost Blue, Man Out of Time, and Human Hands are all among the best of the man's work.
I have a sweet spot for Blood & Chocolate, so if the song tomorrow isn't "I Want You", or Fiona Apple's awesome cover of it, then there will be hell to pay.
Agreed on all counts. Watched it last night and it was a total snooze. I'm willing to give it a couple more eps to see if there's any actual interesting drama, but the cliffhanger on the end of the pilot was anything but.
I would put it as closer to a B. Loobie's songs are great as always, and there are a couple of Lowenstein's songs that really hit the mark, but the album could have snipped a few songs off and been all the better for it. Still, it's worth a listen for the old Sebadoh fans.
Yeah, there's a bit of a wobble to the head back and forth that I think was probably caused by them doing it by hand. Or maybe that was intentional, to replicate the film wobble? Either way, it's pretty impressive work for a kids TV show.
First episode that came to mind. Good lord that one scared me as a kid.
I would be just as interested in a list of plots dropped entirely. Like Rita.
Yeah, this is a lot better than I was expecting, especially after hearing some live performances. "Find My Way" is far more interesting on the album, and has really unique textures throughout.
I actually found Walt's "Belize" line really chilling. Like he so casually tosses out the idea of murdering his lawyer there, it really shows how far he's come, and it's easy to overlook the menace behind it.
I think it's like the Hook phenomenon, in that people saw it when they were too young to realize that it's not any good. I first saw it when I was 20 and couldn't stand it at all.
Those two are my favorite as well, but it may be because that's where I started. They're very under appreciated.
This suggests that Prince is self conscious and has a sense of humor. I'm not sure I believe any of this, but I like it.
@crickinmyneck:disqus This one's pretty hooky, and also from the new EP: http://www.youtube.com/watc…
It took me a couple listens, but this EP has really grown on me. Catchy stuff, reminds me of Technique-era New Order.
This song is not the highlight of the EP. That would be "Invisible".
The next scene would have Walt murdering Hank, and then nobody ever mentions Hank again for the rest of the series.
Yeah, I thought that too for a while, but he's always got this pissed off, flared nostrils look on his face that suggests to me that he's supposed to be intimidating, at least on some level. It doesn't work for me at all, though.
I have to agree. That scene was ridiculous just based on the premise. Also that actor is just not very intimidating or scary, regardless of if he's shooting fellers in the head or not. They needed a Tony Soprano in that role and they got something far, far less. He just doesn't feel like a threat.
