Producers' Cut
Love the show. Tried to watch the producers' cut of the penultimate episode of the season, but there was no extra footage. I read that 8 extra minutes would be included…anyone watch the producers' cut with success? I am not sure what I am missing.

I think you are on to something Noel…furthermore, we have seen the children of Widmore, Eloise, Christian, etc. continue the island sage, so the idea that Aaron, Ji-Yeon, David would do the same makes sense. Just not sure how it will all fit together in the time the series has left…

I think Sayid's statement is really important..JAck will be the one who does what? Saves the island; ends a timeline (which one?); makes the whole damn journey worth it… And why all of the verbal parallels between Locke and Jack in the alternaverse? I am not sure where the show is going, but after tonight, I am more

I thought Sayid's death scene was great — he has an epiphany of sorts about Jack/the island/his life — and he saves as many people as he can. First Desmond, now Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley. Not a bad way to go out. Though I will miss him.

Jin was just reunited with Sun after three years…he has never met his daughter…it seems unlikely at this point for Jin to believe he will actually get off the island…so he stays with his wife…and Sun, after being on the island once, knew that she may not make it back to her daughter…I think it would have seemed trite

I liked that Jack speech too…but I am another Jack fan, so—

Does that mean that Hurley will die because he remembered the island in the altverse?

Maybe no event created the alterna-timeline, but Jughead somehow defied the rules and the energy allowed those who have been on the island to begin to remember their parallel selves? And just like the Comic Con video with rabbit 15, big problems can arise when people become aware of their doppelgangers? So the present

I love Community too…
Todd, I completely agree with why you love this show, even when it's not at its best. And tonight, for the first time, I did care about the emerging Britta/Jeff relationship. I thought his gesture of flowers was sweet and it made sense to me that Britta would begin to see Jeff in a new light as

Jarojena…agree with you about ryan gosling and robert downey jr.

Nevermind about The Interpreter of Maladies
Missed the fact there is a list for short story collections elsewhere. My bad.

Netherland…Mitchell, Diamond, Lahiri, and Sagan
In read a fair amount, but it is hard to argue about the best books of the decade unless you read voraciously. That said, here are a few titles I would have liked to see instead of some of the ones we got:

I like Zadie Smith a lot, but I thought White Teeth had a disappointing ending. Otherwise, I loved it.

Minor correction
"At Bobby's request, Jax tags along with Opie and Half-Sack in order to keep Opie's emotions in check": Half-Sack was not in the van, right? Just Bobby, Opie, and Jax…and then later, Tig.

I agree. Less Ballard and Echo is better overall for the show. Tonight, I enjoyed the limited role Echo played in the episode partly because it made the emerging Echo somehow more credible. I also like how she was a supporting player tonight for Boyd and Topher. I thought that dynamic worked well.

Bet episode this season
I really enjoyed this episode, especially the interplay between Topher and Adelle. Even though Adelle attempts to strongarm Topher into doing something deplorable, she is ultimately satisfied with the way events unfold. Knowing the state Topher and Adelle will be in the future (through Epitaph

Kid from Freaks and Geeks
Jeff begins the episode talking to the actor who played Sam Weir on Freaks and Geeks. Anyone know if he is going to be on the show more often? That would be sweet.

Gemma and Clay
I am unsure how the rest of the season will unravel, but I find it hard to believe that Gemma and Clay will make it through the season with their relationship in tact. If the division between Clay and Jax grows too deep to reverse, I wonder if Gemma will take Jax's side. Then again, I want the show to

Richard Alpert = Richard I the Lionheart; Big stretch, BUT
Richard I made a treaty with Saladin (12th century Sultan of Egypt; Muslim leader; warrior against the Crusades).

hpnerd:
RE "What about you" : Perhaps the problem is that Ben is only concerned with himself - not the island - not other people - not Jacob. Thus, the statement by Jacob. It is not about YOU, Ben.
