What about….Rip Rig + Panic?

I have never read anything more shocking on the AVClub. eEverytime I've ever watched the Young Ones with anyone, I get very uncomfortable with the Sayle's bits and the puppet interludes and feel the need to overexplain that I DON'T ACTUALLY FIND THIS FUNNY.

Likewise. It also made me wonder how much of my love of In the Mood for Love, etc, comes from exoticising the Chinese actors and locations. A sobering thought to be sure, and one I still haven't gotten to the bottom of.

You never disappoint.
Excellent use of the word slut, Rabin.

@ Serious Poster of Serious Posts - Good luck ever convincing anyone of that.

To call the people on the Gabfest hipsters is straight up ridiculous. The show has also never struck me as academic (does that here mean anything even remotely serious-minded?), although it's certainly pretentious, which I love. It is by far my favorite podcast, but then again I am a pretty unrepentant intellectual

@Geddy Lee Marvin

ARGH NEED YOU NOW.
I can't believe you like that song, Rabin. "Need You Now" rivals "Hey, Soul Sister" for my most hated song in recent memory. It's stuck in my head RIGHT NOW and I didn't even watch the video.

I certainly don't think that he's a homophobe, nor do I think that nessecarily he SHOULD have written it that way, I am merely saying that he COULD have, in his case, quite easily.

@foreget_it_jake

His point isn't that Adams was as though all WOMEN were straight, but as though all PEOPLE who might be interested in Corey would be WOMEN.

Yuck.
I hate the word "lover". For some reason it completely disgusts me, maybe because of that SNL sketch.

I did always think Mary Anne and Dawn were gay for each other.

Ugh, Grease. HATE IT!
Sandy is an insufferable, wishy-washy priss for a majority of the movie, and then does a complete 360 and becomes a some kind of sex badass? Because that will make her "happy" for some reason? Is that supposed to symbolize that she is ready to have sex? Why does she have to change her wardrobe and

And quite right too…
It's a serious crime that the audio version of this is not read by Dame Dench herself. I'll never read it, but the quotes here along make me feel that it would be a delight to listen to.

If you like some dudes talking about bad movies…
….I recommend We Hate Movies! It's quickly becoming my favorite in that particular subgenre of podcasts.

There's nothing unfeminist about liking boobs. But you like boobs, you should respect the women who possess them. It's the "trashy" part I take issue with.

Delightful.
"She's hot in a trashy, cleavage-centric way. "

Six of one, half dozen of the other.
