The first season can be a bit rough - it doesn't necessarily have the character depth or complexity that the show has been known for. I suggest you stick with it! The AVC did a great cross talk on the first season a few weeks back that could help :)

Gracias!

Good god. Can't seem to find the article - any chance you could link it?

Dammit! I thought about using  this news for my Newswire submission. Not cool, Sean - not cool!

Who am I kidding? There is no way I'm submitting anything. Damn you full time job!

Agreed. Should be on the short-list for the year-end award.

This is just me, but as someone who read the current books many times - eh. Honestly, I feel the show, given its far more limited scope (than the books) does the narrative more justice than the books (with a few caveats).

"Was he about to about to bang her seven ways from Sunday? You bet your munchkin-loving ass he was."

Sometimes I really love this site. Not sure where else I could discuss something like The King of Elfland's Daughter without going too far down the rabbit hole of fandom.

It is incredibly arch, which puts a lot of people off. That said, the overly-stylized approach hides a remarkably complex character study and deep wells of emotion. Think Harry Potter meets Catcher in the Rye. Not for everyone, but well worth it, if it is your sort of thing.

Damn! You're right. I should have Googled rather than rely on my faulty memory!

Maybe this was brought up before and I'm just late to the conversation, but it is even more hilarious given how that Far Side caption was originally swapped with a Family Circus cartoon.

Congrats - this is amazing. I was going to enter, saw your caption, and decided that I shouldn't bother. Winner right here.

Wow, haven't thought about that movie (ice floes one) in ages. Still one of the all-time great chase scenes. All the more impressive given how it was made.

Nothing really - I think people just feel she tries too hard.

I just started working with a Lana. The temptation to shout "LANAAAAAA" is pretty overwhelming. No one would get it though.

Apparently, he doesn't like that meme. I'm waiting to see whether that means we'll use it more or less.

Yeah, I doubt he was money laundering through banner ads and favorable reviews. I'm assuming this was more of a "differing of vision" kind of thing.

Me too - what is intense enough to make a man leave his self-describe d "life's work"?
