::: disappears back into the shadows :::

In any other country, the Gilmores would have starved to death long ago.

Yeah, as it's presented in the show, the Gilmores seem to have taken college application advice from Max Fischer.  I like to think that there's a college counselor at Chilton that we never see, who keeps telling Rory to apply to less selective schools and who's being driven slowly insane by Rory's refusal to do so.

I was going to make a joke here about the Festival of Living Art being copied from Arrested Development.  Then I realized that the GG episode probably aired a little before the corresponding AD episode.  Then I Googled it and discovered that these "living paintings" are an actual thing, rather than a ridiculous notion

"The main issues lie with Sherry, who is such a problematic, stupid character, a straw-lady villain Lorelai could never hope to like or even suffer gladly."

That was my first thought.  Then I went from there to "Gender-swapped roles?  What other kinds of contrived staging is this production going to involve?"

He can reprise his character from "Breakfast at Tiffany's"!

The play "Much Ado about Nothing" relies on a double meaning between "nothing" and "noting".  I learned this fun fact just recently, so I thought of it when I read your comment (and similar ones above) about the spelling error, and tried to allude to it.

This comment seems like much ado about nothing.

LET'S EAT!

Fun fact:  Mac & Tosh is actually a deep cut into the Looney Tunes archives.  Though I suppose that '50s waitresses might have been more familiar with those characters than we are today, so.

Is it really the longest name the Pythons have used?  Why is it that Zack Handlen has not remembered the name of Johann Gambolputty de von

"Can I just butt in and say here that it's probably the last time I shall ever appear on television?"

I agree wholeheartedly.  Even if Mr. Glitch scared the crap out of me as a kid.

There hasn't been all that much change in African borders since the show debuted in 1991, actually.  Most of the action was in the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia.  Plus the independence of East Timor.

It's also expiring tomorrow on Netflix USA. (Although there's still the option of getting the DVDs via mail, if you have the right kind of subscription.)

Callous, no.  Thoughtless, quite possibly.

Oh lord, I forgot about the scene where they wander into the dorm room.  I understand that it's meant to be whimsical, but it just comes across as creepy.  I was kind of hoping that campus security would be called on them.
