I'm not into downvoting, but since when is "Women aren't funny" an intelligent argument?
I seriously can't understand how people are still saying female comedians aren't funny when Maria Bamford and Amy Poehler are in the world.
I want to add, too, that I don't blame non-white people for staying away from the current NY comedy scene. It's hella racist.
You raise a good point: maybe part of the problem is that the "SNL feeder schools" in NYC and Chicago are very white, too. UCB in New York, for example, is EXTREMELY white. I think they have one black woman on their roster right now, and they have something like 300 regular performers.
My evolution went a little differently. Started as a John fan (teenagers, jeez). Then I went for George when I started getting interested in non-Western cultures. Then, fell in love with Ringo when I saw A Hard Day's Night for the first time. (So cute! Such an underdog!) Now adult Space Jewess is an unabashed Paul…
I've never heard a pussy express an opinion about Beatles songs, so you're good.
Six Feet Under meets REVENGE!
Pot calling the kettle black? Are you saying Miley's too indie or Sufjan's too grammar-impaired?
Good point. It's another way Miley is appropriating African American culture. Inappropriate appropriating, Miley!
Yeah, I'll be the first to admit The Mind Robber is very very silly, but I like it a lot.
Hiddleston!! You charming bastard!! *shakes fist*
Cause it's hilarious! (I'm not kidding.)
Best classic Who Doctor. Yeah, I said it.
I thought you needed to go to a doctor and have wacky future genetic therapy to do the cross-species breeding thing. Or am I misremembering?
Yeah, I've watched Star Trek IV with non-Trekkies before, and it's actually gone over pretty well.
Oh, I've got it! Sarina's the side of him that's full of secrets, but she's also arguably the most moral of the four. An interesting balance, come to think of it.
Hmm, let's see: Jack is his arrogant, cynical side, Patrick is his childish side (which gets along well with Miles), Lauren's his slutty side, and Sarina's… I don't know. The side of him that feels completely alienated from others? I may be stretching here.
Ugh, yes. The worst part of that is that the books are SO GOOD at not doing that. Pullman just throws you in the deep end and says, "Catch up, jerkoffs. Also God is dead."
Possibly the best ending to anything ever.
