I like Celebrity, too.

He has a bunch of great, little character beats for Justin Hammer, sprinkled all throughout the movie.  My favorite is how during the first sit down with Ivan, at the dinner table in the hanger, Hammer's palms are covered in self-tanning lotion but it never gets remarked upon. It's just there, saying a lot about his

French Celebrity trailer on page 2, 0:56-0:57, bottom right corner.

As a lover of animation, crappy and otherwise, this was most enjoyable Inventory I've read in a while.  Nice work @avclub-43c2872b929f4e64e31828b133b59105:disqus !

Rififi is super sweet (I agree @avclub-3bca94e353e508c1a49bf984fc5c346d:disqus , very re-watchable) and Dassin did pick up the Best Director award at Cannes for it.

That Marvel Boy story-line was the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic. I can still picture the look on his and the prosecutor's faces as he, SPOILER, disarms her with non-lethal force. That was right at the peak of my comic reading and I found the domestic abuse to be kind of disturbing as a kid.

I think I could take an honest pass at "Homer The Heretic" now and if someone could provide the date of the apocalypse, I'm sure I could have it down cold in time.

Right on.  I usually stay out of the Newswire comments; I don't have the proper constitution.

Agent 99 from Get Smart.

I'm sure this will be all over the place soon enough, but the new film project from Phipps and the rest of AV Club Classic is called … The Dissolve.

I love that he's wearing a Shemále shirt.

The first since Side Effects anyways.

He's been on a roll post-The Informant!; I thought Contagion, Haywire and Side Effects were all smartly done genre exercises pitched at adults (I haven't seen Magic Mike yet though).

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there, @avclub-7ee8e2fdc6652f2351e0bf3cd9a1a4be:disqus .  I think his Paris, Je T'aime short is fantastic.  I agree with @avclub-09dbda0ec297f8e1fb8fa397efd0f70a:disqus that it's kind of the quintessential Alexander Payne piece (but I'll also agree that if you already

That's really well put, @avclub-a43012a332fc066e7ecf57a9b678fb51:disqus , particularly the third paragraph. Nicely done.

I'm excited for Nebraska too (Bruce Dern and Will Forte as an estranged father & son on a road trip? Sold!) but, as a Seattleite, I'm fascinated that the Bob Nelson who wrote Nebraska is the Bob Nelson from the long-running, beloved local sketch comedy show Almost Live!.

Yea, all these bad puns are having a negative effect Tron your Legacy.

How is this different than any other week at the AV Club?
