I'm feeling a little touchy about it, so I'll point out that the "Cool Beans" scene works way better in the context of the movie because it's so unnecessary and out of nowhere.  Like Scott says in the writeup, it's a typical plot-point signpost scene that they hang a bizarre non-sequiter onto and there's stuff like
