Best. Drunk History. Ever.

Ah, that literally made me laugh out loud.

Did anyone see Safety Not Guaranteed the other week at the Seattle International Film Festival, one of the best film fests in the country that will never get any attention because it always falls at the same time as Cannes but that's alright because it's an overflowing bounty for NW film lovers?

Oh yea, A Glimpse Inside The Mind Of Charles Swan III, Roman Coppola's return to feature directing with Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray and Aubrey Plaza, apparently… Maybe Roman could introduce her to cousin Nic?

It's odd how most of the music cues that feel so out of place in the film ("Sounds of Silence" "All Along The Watchtower" "Ride of the Valkyries", etc.) come from references in the book.  Probably an example of where fidelity to the source material hurts the adaptation.

I'll bet the Theatrical Version isn't half the film the Directors Cut was. I'll bet it's not even half the film that the top half of the Directors Cut was after they cut it in half.

Having only seen the Directors Cut, it seems like a shame to have cut any Cox (except for religious reasons).

I don't think it's worse; it's definitely a bit more coherent.  To me it improves on the theatrical cut in some ways but weakens itself in others.
