I kind of teared up at that bit.
I kind of teared up at that bit.
Skyler began wearing white instead of blue when Walt began "draining the life out of her" as I think Gilligan put it. Now he's drained the life from Marie as well.
Never go in against a neurotic methylamine supplier- when death is on the line! AHAHAHAHA- *collapses*
Both. Really, him going out this way makes for a nice final statement from a show that was all about how blurred the lines between 'good guy' and 'bad guy' are. Which is he now? Both, neither. He's a human being.
It was unrealistic, but satisfying as fuck. Jesse had to kill him for catharsis' sake.
I like to think that in his final moments Todd actually felt some confusion and betrayal, for the first time in his life.
@avclub-6d9c547cf146054a5a720606a7694467:disqus I did. I was like, "oh, shit, there's no way they can do this to him now" and they didn't and I was happy.
@avclub-b97fa993e1616965ac436401de58042d:disqus In no order: "Crawl Space," "Peekaboo," "Half Measures/Full Measures," "Confessions," "Ozymandias," "Salud" (that last one is just so insanely badass I shouted YEAH BITCH several times while watching it)
@avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus He's no less of a fucked-up person, but his ties to his old life have been cut. He's free to do whatever he wants, and that includes having a normal life (which at this point I'm sure he craves). You know how they say that people who jump off bridges change their minds…
@avclub-664039300563ec7e08ded6cc14df0421:disqus Yeah, I wasn't sure how they would handle Walt and Jesse's final meeting- I didn't think they'd have Jesse kill Walt 'cause it would be so bleak, but I didn't think Jesse could possibly forgive him for what he did. There was a nice meeting in the middle. They've made…
For much of the show, he wanted to be punished for his crimes. He's been punished. He's free, and he may well be rich (it's not really clear if he has any money left over).
Most tv shows have a final episode that is the climax of everything before it. But Breaking Bad's climax came in "Ozymandias." This episode, I think, is meant to be viewed as part of a larger whole.
@avclub-1d392d6cd50709b355aa35602cb1b7cc:disqus I was glad Walt got to pull off one last scheme. For a man who had so little control of his own life, it was nice that he got to end things on his own terms.
@avclub-f16ba93ca4e536dcd7d210280d03d607:disqus I like to think it. But it probably didn't happen.
"A robot?"
The way I see it, "Ozymandias" is the end of the story that began in the pilot. "Felina" is the end of the story that began when Walt was born.
"Ozymandias" was the end of the story. "Felina" was the end of Walt's life.
I lost sympathy for Walt a while back, but damn. The scene with Skyler, his final walk through the meth lab… I'm glad he went out the way he did.
WHY… ARE YOU… STILL ALIVE?
I cracked up. Great moment.
