What I want is for Ramsay to trip down the stairs and die suddenly and anticlimactically. Maybe he chokes on that apple with no one around to help him. I'm over this hacky manipulation as we're goaded into rooting for some awesome death at the hands of one of our heros after some 1980's action flick laconic quip. That

I re-watched Citizen Kane recently. I wouldn't say I despised it, but let's say it might be time to revisit the knee-jerk "best movie of all time forever" status it has.

Yep. In general past season 3 you can feel the plot mechanics in motion on this show are not nearly as sophisticated as novels.

The show in general has missed the mark almost every time on the subtle, deconstructed, almost (dare I say?) satirical nature of the books. There's some genuine wit and sophistication in the source material. This HBO shit is hack. Watchable, but hack. I am not George RR Martin.

Dinklage's acting skill is so great that only part of the time am I distracted by how much his accent sounds like Zoolander.

The First Order does not gain control of the Galaxy. The story could have made it clearer, but I see them as a somewhat localized upstart on the fringes, steadily gaining in power as the new Republic waffles. Everything is in Star Wars scale, so it seems like their power is vast, but they're no Galactic Empire yet.

Just had a thought about the Fin/Poe escapade: If the New Order were truly devious, and using historically precedented Cold War Soviet psych-out techniques, then Fin being a deserter looking to help Poe escape would be a perfect way to get the information they couldn't get through conventional interrogation. Poe was

Yeah, at least in Jedi the rebels had some hardass-looking commando guys to send with Han and Lea (and the Sasquatch and shiny brass robot) to blow up the shield generator. THE RESISTANCE has a suburban weekend biker club vibe to me.

I guess so. You'd probably have to move out pretty fast once you start messing with the physics of a star and it gets unstable and goes supernova or some other physics thing. Just thought of that. Gah it's so crazy dumb. The star wouldn't just "get dark," the fusion reaction would go haywire.

OK, so the new Death Star doesn't move, it stays in one place and somehow shoots planets from across the space-time continuum? There are enough relativity problems with the Star Wars galaxy, but leave it to the mind of JJ to find a way to amp up the stupid inherent to the space opera genre to a point that it hurts my

I got the feeling that THE RESISTANCE was like 8 guys in x-wings. I didn't like that.

Downtown Salem is as lovely as lovely gets, aside from the tourist traps. Lighten up, pal.

There is an effective and moving monument in the cemetery if you're looking for it.

ok good
