I find the design very generic and kind of ugly. It has the aesthetic of browsing a mobile version of the site. Hopefully these are just bugs, but notifications seemed to have disappeared and so has My TV Club. It'd be nice to be able to view my comments. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but functioning at least as well

One of my proudest moments in high school was convincing my sophomore English teacher to watch the "Time and Punishment" segment of "Treehouse of Horror V" after we read "A Sound of Thunder." I think the rest of the sophomore English classes followed suit.

I was thinking about Davis, Irving, and Rubio, good picks. Great idea about Garnett and Duncan. Who would step into the Larry Bird role?

Obviously LeBron would have the Michael role, who would be the players the aliens steal talent from? I'd pick Roy Hibbert, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Chris Paul.

Probably some malfunction at the gas pump, got some gas on his clothes.

I was at the Pacers/Grizzlies game last night and I made a crack about Paul George spending time with the Globetrotters in the offseason because of some flashy passes and ball movements he pulled. When I got home and watched this episode, I was amused by the presence of the Globetrotters.

What if one of us has been good and one of us has been bad?

If this is anyone but Steve Allen, you're stealing my bit.

To be fair, Ted is a fan of Cleveland sports teams and Marshall is a Vikings fan. They're pretty used to disappointment, heartbreak, and putting an inept product on the field of play.

Breaking Bad is good, worth a watch. There were definitely moments where he reminded me of Hal.

"That game was fixed, they were using a freaking ladder for God's sake!"

I was wondering if that was going to be one the songs she allegedly inspired.

Glad you mentioned this, I was wondering if something was wrong with my TV. I was watching season 8 yesterday and those bugs were still there.

I agree with you about the progression. The Gaye song is more complex than the Thicke song. I wouldn't call it a wholesale ripoff, but I think the similarity of the chorus and the contour of the melody, Pharrell's comments about the Marvin Gaye song, Thicke's history of lifting from Gaye.

The Verve things is pretty unfair. It was just a case of greed. They'd gotten a right to the sample, but were deemed to have used too much.

I believe that's also the name of the Sports Authority's unsuccessful venture into the adult store business.

I think any degree where one can write extensively about pop culture certainly gives bona fides for being an expert jerk-off.

I think the Verve one was a little unfair, but they did sample that orchestral version of "The Last Time." It's not the first or last time Andrew Loog Oldham was a dick about something.

My first downvote! I don't know what to say, I feel like I've made it as an internet commenter.

Haha, I'm currently back in school to get certified to teach high school. I wanted to go for my doctorate, but I was feeling burned out after two years of graduate work and a 70+ page thesis on The Beach Boys. Plus, academia is in a state of disarrary. I'm just a newly minted musicologist. It'd be better to hire
