I had to get the imports of his releases in the late nineties, he was still fairly fringe. And iirc he was also lumped more into the Roni Size side of D&B, along with Spring Heel Jack.

I ditched my Bentley Rhythm Ace, Lionrock, Death In Vegas albums long ago, but Propellorheads survived that great purge. I still love that album.

Funny that the author talks about Orbital and the Chems being the genre's biggest live acts, but at the time Underworld certainly had that reputation locked down. Check out the dvd of Everything, Everything for sure.

Their 1995 release Oto is still my favorite of theirs.

I like how right after he mentions "Colombian white" they cut to Creed licking his gums/lips.

"While it's not exactly a subtle theme for the season, it's being
developed well: an insular community will come together in strange ways
to thwart outside interference, even if it appears to be a divided,

I think I'd like Pearl Jam more if this was actually true.

It's like choosing a favorite wine: what the fuck criteria would you even start with, and why limit your palate when you don't have to? But were the proverbial gun put to my

If you're just getting started with single malts, the most important consideration is having the proper attitude. Scotch should be approached the same way finer wines and cheeses are: there are no absolute rules regarding quality, and really the entire point of single malts is enjoying the variety of flavors the

"Well, as for Portishead, the album that came out that year was, uh, Portishead, which, while great, was unquestionably the weakest of their albums. "

Don't get all CactusJack on us now.

"Look Up" off Heart is probably my most listened to Stars track.

I've got an opening act I should not have missed:

I was lucky enough to catch them open and then play back up for Beck on the Sea Change tour at Jones Hall in Houston. Seeing dancing animals waving flashlights and bouncing beach balls around in an auditorium designed for classical music made the night unique at the very least.

"The Mayoress and I plan to rewatch the entire series soon, and I bet that dropping my expectations about the mysteries will make that a more rewarding experience."
