I'd say the show is the best novel adaptation, whilst Manhunter isn't especially interested in slavish devotion to the source material, thus working well on it's own terms. The Ratner movie doesn't even come into the equation.
The show is ending. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to talk about it's version of Red Dragon than two that have existed for many years about which there isn't much more to say?
