For me it's not even a left/right issue. Rand's ideas were never interesting or original. When I first read about objectivism I couldn't believe it was philosophy. Her artless prose is like a sledgehammer to the skull.

I understand your irritation Mr. Awesome. I think fanboy/fangirl applies to those who are uncritical of their true love. But the naming is sort of uncritical in and of itself and can defeat further conversation. But there may be no way around it. We had the same conversation about Dark Knight and Watchmen.
