Miss Fame on the chicken farm was one of my favorite things.

Drapey Eileen Fisher tops in purple, with a black pencil skirt, low heels, and hoop earrings. Tiny Afro. KILLER makeup.

We have them in North Carolina.

Michelle not appreciating Bob's glamour makes me SO MAD. I'm still angry about her "ratchet" comments earlier in the season, so girlfriend can take several seats.

OH MY GOD YES.

I say we replace grown Rip with his child self for the rest of the season: kid!Rip would coolly shiv Savage, have a mince pie, and move onto the next thing.

I'm just miffed that we got such a recent Ray Palmer. I wanted awkward teenage Eagle Scout Ray Palmer! He would have been so disgustingly earnest and cheerful! It would have been great!

Especially if it's that damned kimono all the queens wore on RuPaul's Drag Race the other week!

Yes, please! I want Vonda to move to New York and find the skinny white boy of her dreams!

From what I remember of the pilot, her mom is married to Sara's brother.

It was really funny. And for anyone who grew up in a religion that seemed a little weird, it rang really true.

Oh, and speaking of music, I highly recommend checking out Brian Stokes Mitchell singing "Through Heaven's Eyes" from Prince of Egypt. Sweet Baby Jesus, that man can SING, and it is a thing of beauty.

That scene with Mary and Cal made me so angry on her behalf. She tries to engage with him as a partner, but he puts her off, and gets her to keep talking while he jacks off, reducing her to pornography. You see it afterwards, when there's that lingering look at Mary, and she clearly feels so used up and dirty.

And the teenager who was talking to Hawk, I think she was his cousin, right? So she's known him for pretty much all their lives. And for all of the vaguely apocalyptic talk about "The Future" coming, she has a point that it's not a good idea to spend time with someone who is using you to prove a point, or satisfy

I think my favorite scene in this episode is when Rob and Sharon are in the pharmacy, and even with Rob's rather decent French, he has to explain what they need even though he doesn't know the word for "breast pump" (which, why would you even know it? It's such a specialized word).

I loved this episode so much, especially the scene where Rob yells at Samantha at the cinema with the line about how they've now wasted 30 quid PLUS babysitting money. It's so specific to their shared circumstances as overworked parents that really landed for me.

That's something I was wondering about, too. I'd love to see how they deal with this in the later episodes.

RIP, Skinny Pete.

I have been so impressed with his work so far, and it's still early days.

It really was an excellent choice and really effective for me as well. My immediate thought was "somebody help that baby!" and I immediately felt drawn to the Meyerists providing aid. Really well-handled.
