The straight man role is a hard one to fill—by its nature, that person has less to do, and I think it takes an actor of some skill to take that role and make it compelling in its own right, rather than merely bland.

Every time I watch this show, I find myself wanting to go out for ice cream.

I remember Aunt Viv teaching Black History at their school, and all the preppy little white boys getting super interested and buying subscriptions to Jet and Essence.

Maybe.

PINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT NOIR!

OH MY GOD! My inner angtsy sixteen-year-old is so fucking stoked right now. brb, gotta start blaring "Straight" in my cubicle.

"Black horse" and "not my cup of soup" will always be my favorites. Wonk wonk.

Seriously. I mean, yes, Violet is talented and she's grown on me, but Pearl? Meh. Ginj? Fine, but not as fun as she used to be.

I like this idea!

God, that look was just weird.

Oh, I always liked April. She had such interesting looks!

I mean, I get that Ru is in charge and all, but it seems weird and wrong that there has been so much contempt for the fans lately.

Bowling alley lawyer!

SANTOS, for He is risen. I saw it on the bus!

He should. His show is bad and he should feel bad.

Perhaps the rules are different for a voicemail.

Do you see the violence that's inherent in the system?

I'm wondering about the grad school thing, too. I mean, she's really emphasized the fact that she is going to be a single mother, and earlier on in the season, she was offered that teaching job at the Catholic high school—why not take that? I appreciate that she's following her dream, but from a financial perspective

YES on the musical episode. We know Rogelio and Xiomara both sing, and Gina Rodriguez was phenomenal in "Filly Brown" so her musical chops are obviously on point. Make it happen, writers!
